Seasons of darkness & light
Seasons of extreme darkness & light don’t just occur in the far north, but also in our own lives. At Parcel North Studio, we recognize—and honor—periods of grief through this lens. We believe in holding space for grief rather than dismissing it. We believe grief & bereavement have something to offer us, teach us. We believe grief is sacred.
In both one-on-one settings and through group sessions, we offer opportunities to use writing & art-making to help you hold your grief, listen to it, and integrate it.
Creativity, growth & grief
If we suppress emotions that feel overwhelming or frightening, we suppress our own creativity and our capacity for growth & connection. Intentional grief work can be portal for both personal & creative catharsis.
“But this is what grief asks us to do, to simply create space to feel.”
-Marissa Renee Lee
Creating through grief
Grief & bereavement aren’t limited to the death or loss of a person. As humans, we experience many types of loss & grief throughout out lives—grief over environmental degradation & climate change, grief for the injustices we witness daily, the aging of our parents, children, or ourselves, the loss of roles and identities, losses of health & abilities, the end of relationships. There is no way to avoid grief, but grief doesn’t have to be something to fear if we can learn to work with it intentionally.
Significant research shows that writing, art-making & other creative processes help us heal from grief. Let us help guide you through those processes and companion you on your season of grief.
